FORT MYERS, Fla. - PrAtlas -- New Zealand's leading fishing rod manufacturer Maven, today announced a new partnership with USA fly fishing expert Drew Chicone, along with the creation of Maven Rods USA, to amplify its expansion into the region.
Maven daringly launched a retro-styled collection of finesse spinning rods in 2014, in stark contrast to the uninspiring dark color palettes of mass produced rods that dominated the market. The 'Gulf' series, with their stylish Scandinavian inspired color schemes, quickly gained a following of discerning anglers delighted by their thoughtful and striking design, and outstanding performance.
After building out a collection of salt and inshore fishing rods, Maven released its much anticipated 'Mission' series of high performance carbon fiber fly rods in 2019 at ICAST, the world's largest sportfishing trade show in Orlando, Florida. Mission came with its own brand of carefully considered design aesthetic. The stylish Mission fly rod collection is built in sleek polished carbon with a unique cream painted under-guide, beautiful high quality Portuguese cork, sleek titanium and blue composite reel seat, titanium stripper and stainless guides.

Maven customers to date have been able to purchase online from New Zealand. Now, with rods stocked within the US, Maven USA expects to provide product more quickly and efficiently to the market. Both the saltwater Gulf collection and Mission fly rods will be available for US customers. Drew says he is looking forward to working closely with the Maven team to build the brand. "Maven has a superb technical pedigree and a solid international reputation. US anglers are very ready for an outstanding new offering".
Maven founders Stephen and Gayleen Pratt say they are excited to be taking another important step forward with Maven's strategic growth plan. "We are really looking forward to working with and supporting Drew, and delighted to have a shared mission, which quite simply is to put the very finest rods in the hands of anglers worldwide".
