Executive produced by NBA icon Jeremy Lin, Sy Huq, and Benny Luo (NextShark), and helmed by rising director Nathan Xia, the dramedy explores masculinity, mental health, and the healing power of competition.

Set on a neighborhood court, the film unpacks the fragile egos, internal battles, and unspoken emotions of everyday men who turn to basketball as an outlet. Unlike traditional sports films, "Ayo, Check Up!" takes a ground-level approach, capturing the intimacy and rawness of streetball culture. Its nuanced visual language focuses on human connection, culminating in a visceral flashback sequence that takes the phrase "Ball is Life" to a whole new level, both visually and emotionally.

Director Nathan Xia was inspired by a personal moment of emotional vulnerability during a pickup game, and that vision inspired key contributors like Jeremy Lin to take notice.
