Software-based netElastic BNG and CGNAT enables high-performance symmetrical 10Gbps fiber and video services
SANTA CLARA, Calif. - PrAtlas -- netElastic, a leading innovator in software solutions for broadband, today announced that LigaT, a broadband services provider based in Portugal, successfully expanded its broadband network and IPv6 modernization with netElastic software. LigaT offers high-performance fiber internet and television services with a focus on transparency, fair pricing, local proximity and customer-centric innovation, while committed to simplifying digital life through strong value and performance to the communities it serves.
Software-based BNG and CGNAT Powers 10Gbps Services on 1RU x86 Servers
To support its vision, LigaT required a carrier-grade solution capable of sustaining 10Gbps services with consistent low latency and minimal jitter—critical for both premium broadband and television experiences. The netElastic Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) platform met these requirements, delivering a highly scalable, software-based architecture that ensures operational efficiency and long-term growth flexibility. Running on standard one rack unit (1RU) x86 Dell XR servers with Intel 40G NICs in a High Availability (HA) configuration, the networking software platform delivers routing, subscriber management and Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT) with netVision centralized GUI-based management.

IPv6 Modernization with Dual-Stack IPv4/IPv6 Platform
LigaT's network is running dual stack IPv4 and IPv6, using CGNAT for IPv4 address preservation and modernizing the network with IPv6. LigaT leverages netElastic CGNAT, dynamic IPv4 and fixed IPv4 addresses for LigaT customers, especially for tech-savvy users who need remote access for internal servers. The introduction of IPv6 with netElastic allows LigaT to free up more services and no longer require specific IPv4 allocation for these customers.
LigaT's customer-first philosophy is a key differentiator in the market. The company emphasizes clear pricing with no hidden terms, equitable treatment of existing customers, and localized customer support that prioritizes real-time problem resolution. This approach, combined with industry-leading network performance, positions LigaT as a compelling alternative to traditional providers in Portugal.
"At LigaT, we believe that high-performance connectivity should not be reserved for a few. Our mission is to democratize access to fast, reliable and transparent broadband services," said Luís F. D. Tavares, CEO of LigaT. "netElastic provides the scalable BNG foundation that allows us to deliver symmetrical fiber services up to 10Gbps with the operational flexibility we need as we grow. This is an important part of our commitment to fair pricing, technical excellence and a better customer experience."
