Movie to premiere at red carpet event Friday, July 28th at Bel Air Luxury Cinema in Detroit
DETROIT - PrAtlas -- Audiences will embark on an unforgettable cinematic experience as "The Send Off," a heartwarming and light-hearted drama, premieres at the Bel Air Luxury Cinema (10100 E. 8 Mile Rd. in Detroit) on Friday, July 28, 2023. Attended by the cast, crew, popular influencers, and local celebrities, the red carpet event will commence at 7:00 PM, with the exclusive showtime set for 8:00 PM. This captivating movie, presented by Executive Producer Marvin Coleman's Everything's a Flex Inc. and Fiston "Stone" Ndele's Thirty6 Films, in association with Worldwide Wilson Productions, is bound to leave a lasting impression on audiences as it cleverly showcases the cherished bond between a doting dad and his daughter.
Inspired by the real-life experiences, the indie feature film is a cinematic treat that resonates with audiences of all ages. "The Send Off" beautifully captures the essence of the girl-dad relationship and the infamous and oft-over-top prom season antics and cost! The vibrant city of Detroit provides the perfect backdrop for an authentic and nostalgic narrative that explores themes of family dynamics, resilience, sacrifice and the power of self-discovery.

The witty and talented cast including Chanel Mone' ("Nya"), Lloyd Montague ("Mark"), Kena Livingston ("Juanita"), and Nylon Keies ("Brittany") do a stellar job of showcasing the craftiness of the script, written by the film's director Sean "The Verdict" Whitfield.
EP Marvin Coleman has passionately championed this project from its inception, making sure that the movie encapsulates the infamous Detroit "Prom Season" hype and shared sentiment of the coveted urban family rites of passage - similar to Quinceaneras in the Latino community and Bah Mitzvahs in Jewish culture.
"Prom season in the D is a big deal!" Explains Coleman. "Like many parents and teens, I waited my daughter's whole life to make sure that her prom send-off was incredible - with no expense spared."
A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit Children to Leaders, an area 501(c) 3 non-profit committed to fostering leadership skills and empowering youth entrepreneurs and aspiring actors and creatives from traditionally underserved communities. Led by Leslie Ford and daughter Carisha Bea aka Black Barbie, Children to Leaders sponsored key elements of the production - from craft services to cast members. "The Send Off" lead actress Chanel Mone', one of the organization's success stories, stars as "Nya", a bright young woman (and shameless daddy's girl) navigating the complexities of life and finding her place in the world. As she prepares for the most memorable milestone of her high school journey – prom night – she learns about the power of love, family bonds, and strength within.
